Natalie "Dewey" (Dewhurst) Holden, 84, of New Bedford died unexpectedly December 30, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. Holden with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in Middleboro, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Vivian (Hartling) Dewhurst.
A graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse in the New Bedford area until her retirement. She had also been an election worker for the City of New Bedford and was an avid Bingo player.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Holden, Jr. and wife Diane of Covington, LA, James Holden and wife Lisa of Rochester and John Holden of Wareham; a daughter, Una Brassard and husband Paul of New Bedford; her sister, Jean Metcalf of Maine; four grandchildren, Christina, Jamie, Sean, and Katie; and two nieces.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 12 Noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 11AM - 12 Noon. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
