John R. Carr Sr., a 20 year resident of Danvers and former longtime resident of Wakefield, died at his home in Danvers on Thursday, December 30, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 67 years old.
John was born in Boston on April 30, 1943 to the late Corinne (Higgins) and Robert Noseworthy. He grew up in Wakefield where he attended Wakefield Public Schools and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1962. John also attended Massachusetts School of Trade and received his license in H.V.A.C. John worked for many years as a Heating Technician with several plumbing and H.V.A.C companies in the surrounding cities and towns. John enjoyed fishing and traveling on many trips and cruise ships with his wife Eva. Most of all, John took special pleasure and pride at watching all his grandchildren in their sporting events and daily activities. John was a dedicated 30 year friend of Bill W.
John is the beloved husband of 20 years to Eva M. Soucy and the late Patricia J. (Ball) Carr. He is the devoted father of John R. "Jack" Carr Jr. and his wife Joy of Wakefield, William A. "Billy" Carr and his wife June of Wakefield and step-father of Thomas Stamulis and his wife Alisha, George Stamulis and his partner Lisa and Denise Panagiotakopoulos and her husband Peter. He is the loving Papa to Chelsea, Lily, Madison, Emma, Sam, Ali, Zachary, Taylor, Jordan, Amilia and Melina. He is the beloved brother of Susan Noseworthy of Wakefield, Patricia Kannler of Wakefield, James Noseworthy of Wakefield and Hannah "Nancy" Proctor of Gardner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's Funeral on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 8:45 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line followed by his Funeral Service and Celebration of his life in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 127 Summer St. Lynnfield at 10 a.m. Interment at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
