Randolph “Randy” Allen Pruitt, age 67, of 290 Williamson Creek Road, Ruffin, NC, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 in Morehead Memorial Hospital.
Born August 26, 1943 in Danville, he was the son of the late Roy T. Pruitt and Annie Jones Pruitt. Most of his life was spent in the Ruffin community and he was last employed at Akers Heating & Air until his disability in 1997. Mr. Pruitt was a member of Westover Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Cathy Maxie Pruitt; two sons: Jason Randolph Pruitt and Jonathan Allen Pruitt, both of the residence; four brothers: Roy T. Pruitt, Jr. of Stanley, NC, Vern Pruitt of Reidsville, NC, Leonard M. Pruitt of Ruffin, NC, and Eddie Pruitt of Eden, NC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Beatrice Pruitt and Helen Pruitt; and by three brothers: Bobby Pruitt, Paul Pruitt, and Bill Pruitt.
Funeral services officiated by Dr. Doug Barber and Pastor Robert Vermillion will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the funeral service.
