Benvinda "Chu-Cha" (Sylvia) Campbell, 75, of New Bedford died December 28, 2003 at Blaire House after a long illness.
She was the wife of Walter M. "Soupy" Campbell and daughter of the late Serafim C. and Mary "Chubin" (Gilbert) Cabral.
Mrs. Campbell was born in New Bedford and lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Campbell was formerly employed by the New Bedford School Department as a cafeteria worker at the Hathaway School for many years until her retirement. She had also worked at Cornell-Dublier and West End Nursery.
Survivors include her husband; 2 sons, Milton W. Campbell, and his wife Marie A., of Dartmouth and Bruce I. Campbell, and his wife Teresita, of California; a daughter, Yvonne M. Santos, and her husband Jeffrey W., of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Valentino G. Cabral, and his wife Elizabeth "Betty", of New Bedford and Franklin G. Cabral of Florida and Antone G. Cabral of California; a sister, Hilda Monteiro of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Charles Sylvia.
