Herbert Glenn Blick 95 died peacefully on December 29,2010 after living a full and extraordinary life.
Glenn was born in Lyon County, Kentucky to Hunter Blick and Minnie May Sell and lived his early years in west Texas.
His family returned to western Kentucky via covered wagon, where he attended school and worked until 1942.
He proundly and courageously served in the U.S. Army in World War II as a Sergeant (T/A) in the 8th Armored Division. Post W.W. II, Glenn worked as a civilian at Fort Knox on tank operations and retired in 1980.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Charlotte Hill of El Paso, Texas, grandchildren Brenda Rossi of Raleigh,North Carolina and Brian Hill of El Paso, Texas,and two great grandchildren.
Glenn resided in Elizabethtown with his wife of 40 years, Wilma Blick, who predeceased him in 1982. While in Elizabethtown, they were members of Severance Valley Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years.
He married in 1983 to Mina Peek Lott, who who survives him. Glen and Mina Happily spent their retirement years traveling all 48 states of the continental United States and Canada.
He is also survived by Mina's daughter Carmen Miller ( Charles), Sue Holton (David) ,Rebecca Aldred (Bill), Nancy Guida ( Pasquale), and Julie Hardesty ( Joe),as well as 16 step-gandchildren, and 14 step-greatgrandchildren.
Glenn faithfully lived his life according to Christian principles and spent much of his time volunteering to benefit Oneida Baptist Institue and building churches with the Severance Valley Men's Group in places as far away as California.
He enjoyed working in his woodshop and shared his furniture and toys with others.
According to Isaiah 40:31 "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles."
Glenn had hope in the Lord and is certainly soaring on eagle's wings.The family gives heartfelt thanks for care provided by the wonferful staff at Park Terrace Nursing Facility.
