Thurley A. (Farland) Lach, 88, of New Bedford died Wednesday December 29, 2010 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Bruno F. Lach; they had been married for 57 years before his death in 1997.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Albert G. and Florida (LaPorte) Farland, she lived in Dartmouth for many years before returning to New Bedford five years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mrs. Lach was a hairdresser who owned and operated Thurley's Beauty Shop.
She was a member of the Mount Carmel Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Holt of New Bedford; a son, Frank Lach and his wife June of East Freetown; four grandchildren, Stephanie Lisa Lees of Tulsa, OK, Gretchen Correia of Marion, Jennifer Meninno of Waterford, CT, and Jeffrey Davis, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Roland G. Farland and Florence Chapman.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:45 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
