Diane M. (Richmond) Leonard, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, died on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. at Tufts Medical Center in Boston following a brief illness. She was 65 years old.
Diane was born in Melrose on July 30, 1945 to Leonard J. and Norma V. (Corbally) Richmond. She grew up in Wakefield, where she attended Wakefield Public Schools and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1963. Diane had been working at Lannan Chevrolet for over 10 years in the accounting department. She also worked at Wakefield Brake for 10 years, Fanny Farmer for 4 years, Lechmere Sales for 5 years and Synetics of Wakefield all in involving their accounts payable departments. Diane enjoyed bowling and ceramics but most of all she adored her 3 grandchildren and spending time with her family.
Diane is the loving mother of Matthew D. Leonard and his wife Diane of Danville, New Hampshire, Sean P. Leonard and his partner Randy Freidus of Haverhill and Katherine M. Cashman and her husband Sean of Dracut. She is the beloved daughter of Norma V. (Corbally) Richmond of Wakefield and the late Leonard J. Richmond. She is the loving Grammy to David, Madison and Sean Jr. She is also the dear best friend of Ralph Dow of Wakefield.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Diane's Funeral on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Wakefield/Melrose line, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 49 Butler Avenue, Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours will be on Monday, January 3, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m.
