Obituary

CROSBY - Bill Crosby, 82, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 29, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Crosby was born October 10, 1928 in Graham Georgia and moved to Fernandina Beach in 1956. Before his retirement, he worked in various capacities for Container Corporation. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 54 of Fernandina Beach. Mr. Crosby loved fishing, gardening, playing poker and spending time with his family. He loved his family and was kind hearted and generous. He would do just about anything for anybody. He was predeceased by his wife, Willene Roddenberry Crosby who passed away in 1978. Survivors include seven children, Marlon Crosby (Teresa) of Yulee, FL, Simon Crosby, also of Yulee, Barbara Stewart (Paul) of Fernandina Beach, FL, Janice Luker (James) of Yulee, Debra Crosby Norton of Franklin, NC, Connie Marie Crosby of Fernandina Beach and Regina Scott (Hadley), also of Fernandina Beach; four brothers, Eugene Crosby, Howard Crosby, Bronnie Crosby and Lonnie Crosby; four sisters, Hazel Brewer, Irene Walker, Shirley Alston and Nell Richman; 12 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, at Graham United Methodist Church in Graham, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family will also receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, at Green Pine Funeral Home in Yulee, FL.
