Teresa L. Beehan, 85, of New Bedford died Wednesday December 29, 2010 at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William and Alice (Rourke) Beehan, she lived in New Bedford all her life.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Martyr Church.
Miss Beehan was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse at St. Luke's Hospital and Sacred Heart Home until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School, Class of 1943 and Holy Ghost Hospital Nursing School in Cambridge. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two brothers, Terence F. Beehan and William J. Beehan, Jr., both of New Bedford; a sister, Elizabeth Gingras of Mattapoisett; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Margaret M. Bedell.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in St. Lawrence Martyr Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to her Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Holy Family-Holy Name School, 91 Summer St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
