Rockland – Ethel I. (Delano) Coit 98, a life long resident of Rockland, died Monday December 27 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Manuel Coit.
Born and raised in Rockland she was the daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (Bowser) Delano and attended Rockland schools.
During WWII Ethel worked many years for the National Fire Works Company. In later years, she along with her husband Manuel, worked for the former ET Wright Shoe Company of Rockland, where she retired from after 20 years of service.
She is survived by two children Judith Fiaschetti and Robert Coit, along with 14 grandchildren and many many great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Leo P. Coit and Mary Esposito.
Her funeral service will he held Monday January 3 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Halifax. Visiting hours are omitted by request of the family.
