Obituary

David L.Day,70 of Putnam Pike, Greenville, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 18, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of the late Susan (Merritt) Day, his wife of 40 years.

Born in Auburn , NY, a son of the late Lawrence E. and Mary (Ryan) Noga, he had been a resident of Smithfield since 1977.

He was the Chief Operating Officer for Desmond Woolen Mills before retiring. He was a Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Smithfield Elks Lodge #2359 and the Smithfield Senior Center where he volunteered his services. He also volunteered and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. His hobbies include saltwater fishing, antiques car shows and winters in Cocoa Beach, FL.

He is survived by his three children; Mindy Hart and her husband, James of Smithfield; two sons, David J. Day and his wife, Marina of Racine, WI, Jeffrey W. Day of North Smithfield; five grand-children; Samuel, Jacob and Riley Hart, Devon and Delaney Day; his two sisters, Barbara Polcovich and her husband Bill, Judy Nunnari and her husband Anthony, a brother Ronald Noga and his wife Mary, all of Auburn, NY. He was the brother of the late Patricia Glancy and her husband Robert.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622
Putnam Pike, Greenville . Burial private. Visitation Tuesday 4-7pm
in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers,donations in his memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence , RI 02904 .
