Egbert F. "Peekeye" Christopher, Jr., 65, of Lakewood, WA died December 22, 2003 at St. Joseph Medical Center after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Egbert F. and Esther L. (Offley) Christopher and the former husband of Luz Vega and the late Carol Christopher.
Mr. Christopher was born in New Bedford and lived most of his life in New Bedford, Springfield and Worcester before moving to Tacoma, WA a few years ago.
He served in the US Air Force as a Military Police in Germany and Japan.
Mr. Christopher enjoyed cowboy movies, playing the saxophone and trumpet at church and working with his hands. He was a very loving and patient person.
Survivors include 5 sons, David Christopher and Matthew Christopher, both of Worcester, Mark Christopher of Atlanta, GA, Aaron Christopher of Boston and Egbert Christopher, III of Seattle, WA; 2 daughters, Elaine Christopher of Springfield and Bethany Christopher of Virginia Beach, VA; a step-son, Rogers Ramirez of Tacoma, WA; 2 brothers, Albert F. Christopher of Wilbraham, Mass., and Maurice W. Christopher of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Zonia L. Raffa and Esther L. Bridgeforth, both of New Bedford; several grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Alisha Christopher and step-father of the late Margaratte Ramirez.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford, Tuesday, December 30th at 12 Noon.
Visiting hours are omitted.
Interment Peckham West Cemetery.
