Obituary

LOWELL—Catherine M. (MacIntosh) Descoteaux, 72 years old, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 24th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of Phillip E. Descoteaux, Jr.

She was born in Saco, ME, on January 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Sinclair and Catherine (McMillan) MacIntosh, and was educated in the Maine School System.

Mrs. Descoteaux has resided in the Belvidere section of Lowell for over forty years, and was employed as a Cafeteria Worker at St. Stanislaus Grammar School. She later worked for the City of Lowell as a Crossing Guard at the same school.

Surviving her besides her husband are a daughter and son-in-law: Susan J. and Thomas Piekos, of Lowell; a son: Phillip E. Descoteaux, III, of Litchfield, NH; six grandchildren: Amy, Sarah, Rebecca and Joshua Piekos, all of Lowell; and Katie and Phillip E. Descoteaux, IV, of NH; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Jeannie and Alan McInnis, of Saco, ME; Isabelle and Robert Strickland, of Melbourne Beach, FL; and Johan and Frederick Grondin, of Saco, ME; two very dear friends: Emily Freeman and Catherine E. Conley; also many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Helen Crowley.

At her request, all funeral services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Care Center at Saints Memorial Medical Center; 1 Hospital Drive; Lowell, MA 01852.
