DUDLEY - Joseph John Lazarowski, 90, of Dudley, died Christmas Day after a sudden illness.
He leaves 5 sisters, Helen Baron, Stasia Nalepa, and Genevieve Lariviere and her husband Adelard, all of Webster, Theresa Jezierski and her husband Stanley and Anna Scanlon, all of North Grosvenordale, CT; 2 brothers, John Lazarowski of East Hartford, CT and Stanley Lazarowski and his wife Sue of Mountain Home, Idaho; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was born in Webster, a son of Stanislaw and Kazimiera (Kozlowski) Lazarowski. He graduated from St. Joseph Elementary School and then attended Bartlett High School.
He enlisted in the US Army Air Force in World War II, where he served as an airplane mechanic for the 346th Fighter Squadron, 350th Group, 12th Air Force. He saw action in North Africa and Italy. He attained the rank of staff sergeant.
Mr. Lazarowski was an electrician at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster for many years before retiring in 1983.
In 1970, he married Edith E. Antonson. They were happily married until her death on Easter Sunday in 2001. They enjoyed traveling.
Joe attended Mass daily at his parish, Saint Andrew Bobola Church. Among his hobbies were photography and carpentry.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 30, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Chuirch, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors at the cemetery.
