
WEBSTER – Albert P. Penkala, Jr., 57, of 30 Ash Street, died Friday, December 26, in Hubbard Regional Hospital after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife of 20 years, Helen I. (Rebokis) Ducharme-Penkala; a son, Michael J. Penkala of Webster; a stepson, Keith J. Ducharme of Brookings, South Dakota; and his mother, Julia (Szwach) Penkala of Webster.
He was born in Webster, son of the late Albert P. Penkala, Sr., and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1966 and completed the course of study at East Coast Aerotech in Lexington.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Penkala was an assistant electrician at Assumption College in Worcester for about 20 years before retiring. He was a member of Saint Louis Church, and enjoyed being a ham radio operator.
The funeral will be held Monday, December 29, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street, Dudley. His uncle, the Reverend Joseph F. Szwach, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. A calling period will be Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
