DUDLEY – Frances C. (Nichols) Pothier, 55, of Carpenter Road, died Friday, December 24, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family.
She leaves her husband of 18 years, Richard D. Pothier; 2 sons, Louis J. Perrin, Jr. and his wife Maria V. Perrin of Dudley, and Robert L. “Robbie” Perrin and his wife Quennie L. Perrin of Pittsfield; 2 stepsons, Matthew R. Pothier of New York and Nicholas D. Pothier of Stafford, CT; 4 grandchildren, Arianna, Alexis, Maikayla and Christian; her mother, Clara (Vacher) Nichols of Dudley; a close niece, Karen Olson of Brimfield; a lifelong friend, Shirley Howland of Clearwater, FL; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard A. and Sandra L. (Wdowiak) Pothier of West Warren; nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Christian J. Nichols, Jr. and by her 2 sisters, Lena O. Ryan and Mary Anne Puduski.
She was born and raised in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Christian J. Nichols, Sr. and lived there 45 years, moving to Dudley in 2000. She graduated from Southbridge High School.
Mrs. Pothier was a home health aide for the VNA of Southern Worcester County in Webster for many years, retiring recently because of illness.
Her family was her passion, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling in her RV and visiting Foxwoods.
The family would like to thank the Overlook Hospice of Charlton for their gentle care and concern for Frances, as well as family members and the many friends who provided a constant support to her and to her family.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 29, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster. A funeral service will be conducted by Bishop Todd Burt at 7:15 PM during the calling hours.
