Mrs. Aline Raby Graham, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Thursday, December 23 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 27, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. James Griffin and Rev. Edgar Renfroe officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Graham was born March 6, 1919 in Ben Hill County to the late Ronald O. and Mary Lou Emrich Raby. She lived in Fitzgerald all of her life. Mrs. Graham attended the nursing program at Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School. She was a former employee of Tice Yarn, Fitzgerald Cotton Mill, and worked as a Nurse at the Ben Hill County Hospital. Mrs. Graham was a foster grandparent at Lynwood School. She was a member of Callie Garbutt Baptist Church (which is now Calvary Baptist Church) and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a loving wife, mother and grandchildren and was an avid Braves Baseball fan.
Mrs. Graham is survived by a daughter: Ruth O’Donnell of East Point, GA; 3 grandchildren: Renay Goller, Janet Thompson and Pamela Whitley, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; sister: Louise Bennett of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Layfield Graham, daughter, Joyce Ann Magas, brother, William “Bud” Raby and two sisters, Nellie McCrimmon and Minnie Parker.
