Juanita H. Guthrie, 89, of East Peoria passed away at 5:55a.m. on Tuesday, Dec 21, 2010, in the loving care of the Heiterland staff at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
She was born in Brookland, Ark. on April 14, 1921, a daughter of Joe and Martha (Davenport) Barron.
Surviving are her children, Darlene (Reed) Oliver of Palatka, Fl., Deborah (Dale) Pauls of Stamford, Ct., Martha-Jo (Jonnie) Knowles of East Peoria, Dennis Guthrie of Orange Park, Fl., Garlan (Lynn) Guthrie of Morton; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters, Lucille Schuetzenhofer of St. Louis, Mo., Joy Tebo of Washington, Mo., and one brother, Harlan Barron of Marmaduke, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant daughter, one granddaughter, and three sisters.
She worked up until she was 78 years old, last working at Central Illinois Medical Group after years of working at Carson Pirie Scott and the YMCA.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a visitation from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills. A memorial service will be given by Deborah Pauls at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka or to the Methodist Hospice Care.
