Obituary

BOSTON … Sally V. (Piekos) Grygiel, 94, of Tiverton, RI formerly of Fall River died Wednesday, December 22, 2010.
She was the widow of John Grygiel to whom she was married for 58 years.
She died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Stanislaw and Katarzyna (Szczygiel) Piekos and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
She was a seamstress with A & A Manufacturing and other mills in the city retiring in 1981 after 50 years.
She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland Street, Fall River where she was a member of their Holy Rosary Sodality, their Senior Citizens Club, she was involved in their festival from the beginning running different booths and faithfully in the making of pierogis. She received the Marian Medal in 1995 from Bishop O’Malley.
Mrs. Grygiel was a member of the Teamsters Senior Group, volunteered at St. Anne’s Hospital for 20 years and enjoyed any kind of needle work, reading, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter Denita Tremblay and her husband Kenneth of Tiverton, a son Jan J. Grygiel and his wife Deborah of Westport, 3 grandchildren: Denita M. Rossi and her husband Michael, Jessica D. Seseske and her husband Daniel, and Lauren M. Grygiel, 2 great grandchildren: Noah T. Gramitt and Mary Rose Seseske, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 9AM from the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland Street, Fall River. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours Sunday 1 – 4 PM. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be sent to St. Stanislaus School Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 300, Fall River, MA 02724.
