TAUNTON – Elsie Raposa of Taunton, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Dec. 22, 2010.
She was 73.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel M. and Maria Luz (Simas) Raposa.
Raised and educated in Taunton, she was a 1955 graduate of Taunton High School.
Elsie was employed as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Dr. Robert Mealy for over twenty years, retiring many years ago.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she was an animal lover, and had several cats and other pets throughout her life.
She leaves two brothers, David Raposa of Raynham and Jeremiah Raposa and his wife Carol of Attleboro; a sister, Linda Raposa of Taunton; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Raposa, four nieces; four nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Louis, Evelyn and Mary C. Raposa, and Irene M. Demaine.
Elsie's funeral mass and calling hours have been postponed due to the forcast of blizzard conditions.
The new revised schedule is as follows:
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Dec. 30th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 29th from 4 to 7 p.m.
