Marie J. (Vanasse) Corey, 80, a resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts, died on at the Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on August 8, 1930 to Alexander & Mary (Moriarty) Vanasse. She was educated in St. Patrick's Grammar and a graduate of St. Patrick's High School. She worked for over 20 years as a Cook for the Breen School in the South Lawrence Section of the City. She was a member of the Lawrence Garden Club and St. Patrick Ladies Sodality.
She is the wife of the late: Jack Corey and she is survived by her loving family: her son John and his wife Helen of London, England, her daughter Mary Louise and her husband Timothy Conroy of New York Andrew and his wife Barrie-jane of New Hampshire, and her daughter Ann Marie Corey of Lawrence, MA. Grand children: Alycia & Nickolas Corey, James, Matthew & Spencer Conroy, Christopher, Marc and Matthew Corey. One brother-in-law Thomas and his wife Barbara Corey of Maryland sisters-in-law: Mrs. Helen Vanasse of Metheun, MA & Mrs. Marie Corey of California. as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11:00AM in St. Patrick Church in South Lawrence, MA. A burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
