Virginia Fitzgerald McGregor, 88, formerly of 550 Bermuda Road, Danville, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at
Roman Eagle Memorial Home. Born at Sycamore, VA on December 4, 1922,
she was the daughter of James Walter Fitzgerald and Rebecca Salmon Fitzgerald, both who predeceased her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-father, Charles Daniel Fitzgerald, one sister, Verla Brumfield,
one half sister, Grace Bohannon and two half brothers, Joe Fitzgerald, and Covel Fitzgerald.
She was married to Henry Andrew McGregor, who predeceased her on February 9, 1991.
Mrs. McGregor is survived by two step-daughters, Judy M. Dalton and Terry M. Keller of Danville, one step-son,
Danny McGregor of Virginia Beach, and several nieces and nephews, including Martha Ann Brumfield of New York City,
and Nancy Keen Standley of Danville.
She was a member of Shelton Memorial Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She had worked for Dan River, Inc. and
retired as a lab technician after 34 years of service.
Funeral services for Mrs. McGregor will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Barker Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive
friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence of Cliff and Clarice Price at 123 Shannon Drive. The family respectfully suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew,
