Obituary

WEBSTER - Elizabeth R. “Betty” (Stasko) Minarik, 83, died Monday, December 20, after a short illness. Her husband of 54 years, Michael A. Minarik, died in 2001.

She leaves a son, Robert M. Minarik and his wife Debra of Douglas; 2 daughters, Betty Ann McNulty and her husband Philip of Webster, and Jane E. Rutter and her husband Kevin of Dudley; 4 grandsons, Todd, Kyle, Brian and Craig; 4 great grandchildren, Trevor, Colin, Ethan and Lauren; a sister, Irene Minski and her husband Chester of Vero Beach, FL; an aunt, her special nieces and nephews, many cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew M. Minarik in 1949, and by a nephew, Gary Chosta in 1980.

She was born in Webster, the younger daughter of Andrew and Anna (Cupka) Stasko and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School.

Mrs. Minarik worked at the former Key Store and then was a teller for the Webster Cooperative Bank, retiring as an assistant treasurer in the early 1990's.

She was a member of Saint Louis Church and the Saint Louis League of Catholic Women. She formerly belonged to the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling and dining out. She was always involved in the activities of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

The funeral will be held Thursday, December 23, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, in the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made to either the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the UMass Medical School, UMass/Memorial Development Fund, Attn: Stroke Research, 333 South Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
