FALL RIVER — Irene M. Demers, 84, of Fall River died Friday, December 17, 2010 after a long illness. She died at the Fall River Jewish Home.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Victor J. and Eva (Landry) Demers and had been a lifelong resident of the city.
She was employed as a floor girl for Louis Hand Curtain in Fall River for 46 years from 1942 – 1988.
Miss Demers was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Road, Fall River. She was a member of UNITE and enjoyed playing cards and loved animals.
Survivors include her twin brother Omer Demers of Fall River, 2 nieces and 3 nephews. She was the sister of the late Rose Campbell. She also leaves behind her friends and caretakers, Jamie and Maria from Community Connections, as well as the caring and dedicated staff at the Fall River Jewish Home.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Road, Fall River. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Tuesday at 9AM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Fall River Jewish Home or Community Connections.
