Mrs. Delsia H. D'Arrigo, of Boston's North End formerly of Somerville passed away at the age of 90 on December 18th following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Biagio D'Arrigo. Born in Italy she was the daughter of the late Luciano and Adelaide (Fiscone) Francescone.
Delsia came to the United States as a young girl at the age of eight. She settled with her family in Boston's historic North End where she was raised and educated. Following her marriage she moved to Somerville and lived there for many years while raising her family. Delsia eventually moved back to the North End and has been a resident there for most of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She was a fabulous and talented cook and took great pride in decorating her home. Friends and family never left her home without a stomach full of good homemade food. Delsia also worked for more than thirty years as a sales clerk for the Jordan Marsh Dept. Store in Boston.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Delsia is predeceased by her sister, the late Dora Bennett. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Lauria of Saugus, and son, Domenic D'Arrigo and his wife Wanda of Minnesota. She was the loving grandmother of Dana, Evan and Diana D'Arrigo, Jenella and Talia Lauria. She is also survived by her loving great grandchildren, Ethan and Samantha D'Arrigo. She is further survived by her cherished sister, Bettina Trabucco of Winchester and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Thursday, December 23rd, at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 9:45 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
