SNEADS FERRY: Mrs. Carolyn Diggs Latham, 80, of Marston, died at her daughter's house in Sneads Ferry on December 20, 2010, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born on December 17, 1930 in Cairo, an Anson County community, the daughter of the late Elbirt Denzil Diggs and Mary Lowry Diggs. She and her husband then worked together part-time selling World Book Encyclopedias while their children were in college.
After her husband retired from the US Postal Service, they both enjoyed working at a craft store in Scotland County for a short while. Carolyn was the wife of the late William Walter Latham, Jr. of Marston, who preceded her in death shortly after celebrating 59 years of marriage on April 17, 2009. She was a sweet person and a loving Mother who adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
