Obituary

Catherine "Kay" Dovas, of Manchester, died December 18, 2010 at the Catholic Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Manchester, the daughter of the late George and Evangeline (Manolis) Dovas. She was educated in the local school system and attended Manchester High School Central.
Kay and her sister owned and operated Post Office Fruit on Chestnut St. in Manchester for over 49 years. She loved her work and made many life long friends through her business. She was especially proud to have the origination of the Union Leader's Santa Fund start right in her own restaurant.
Always full of life, Kay enjoyed visiting Hampton Beach and cheering for the Red Sox. She found her greatest joy spending time with her nephews and nieces, all of whom meant the world to her.
She was a former member of the St. Paraskevi Ladies Society in Nashua and a life member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
Members of her family include a sister Effie Dovas of Manchester; two brothers, John Dovas and his wife Marie (Dashy) Dovas of Manchester, A. George Dovas and his wife Evelyn (Hadges) Dovas of Hampton; nieces, Kathryn Jaskolka and Lynn Coveney; nephews, George John Dovas, George A. Dovas, and Michael Dovas; many great nephews and nieces and one great-great niece.
The funeral service was held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the St. George Cathedral Beautification Fund or to the St. George Cathedral Choir Fund, 650 Hanover St, Manchester, NH 03104.
