Obituary

Eugene A. St. Jean, 81 of Fairhaven died December 18, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Lillian V. (Dupont) St. Jean.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Louis and Aurore (Bourassa) St. Jean, he lived in Acushnet and New Bedford most of his life.
He was formerly employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Employment Security for over 20 years before retiring as a regional manager.
Mr. St. Jean served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea retiring as a Sergeant Major after 22 years of service.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Paul St. Jean and his wife Noreen of Springhill, FL and John St. Jean of Fairhaven; a daughter, Linda St. Jean of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Jeannette Sevigny and Helen Laporte, both of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Carol Rose and Theresa Hatfield and the brother of the late Henry St. Jean.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 21st at 10:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, December 20th from 4-8 PM.
