HUNT - James C. “Jim” Hunt, 82, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 16, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Fernandina Beach. He was born March 11, 1928 in Toledo, OH and moved to Fernandina Beach in 2006 from Raleigh, NC.
He was of the Methodist faith and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Hunt was a past scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and was also an Eagle Scout. He was very active with scouting for many years. He was intelligent, even-tempered, polite, never confrontational and a friend to all. Mr. Hunt was an electrical engineer and did his work with excellence. He was an avid supporter of Purdue University and a Purdue Boilermaker fan.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Ann Goodwin Hunt, who passed away in 2005. After the death of his wife, Mr. Hunt moved to Fernandina Beach to live with his niece, Mary Ann East, whom he always loved as if she were his his own daughter.
Survivors include a brother and sister in law, John and Margaret Hunt; two nieces, Mary Ann East (Joe), and Ann Hunt; and a nephew, James Hunt.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, in the family burial estate at Bosque Bello Cemetery with Rev. Bob Phelps officiating.
