Obituary

TEWKSBURY: June I. (Patten) Baratta, age 86, a resident of Tewksbury for over 55 years, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at her son's home, in Auburn, New Hampshire.
She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Baratta, who passed away in 1974.
Born in Worcester on September 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Amy K. (Nurse) Patten.
Mrs. Baratta was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School.
In 1954, she moved to Tewksbury where she and her late husband raised their family.
Mrs. Baratta was a daily communicant of St. Williams Parish, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an administrative assistant in the Social Services Department at the Tewksbury Hospital, where she worked for many years.
Mrs. Baratta was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Drop-In- Center.
She enjoyed numerous activities including reading, her daily walks , sharing a cup of coffee with her friends, and volunteering her time to the patients and staff at the Tewksbury Hospital.
Mrs. Baratta is survived by her four children, Robert J. "Bud" Baratta, Jr. and his wife Leslie of Alton, NH, Nancy B. Hedstrom and her husband Dr. Joseph Hedstrom of Bedford, NH, Thomas F. Baratta and his wife Pat (Dionne) of Acton, and William J. Baratta and his wife Gail of Auburn, NH; seven grandchildren, Stacey A. (Baratta) Perry and her husband Joseph of Alton, NH, Robert J. Baratta, III and his wife Dina of Londonderry, NH, Jay A. Hedstrom of Auburndale, MA, J. Joseph Hedstrom and Philip J. Hedstrom both of Bedford, NH, Christopher T. Baratta of Acton and Katherine E. Baratta of Auburn, NH; three great grandchildren, Nicole, Joseph and Michael Perry.
Calling hours Monday, Dec. 20, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
