Wayne Spradlin, 77, of Fitzgerald died Friday, December 17 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M., Sunday, December 19 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cargle officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Spradlin was born August 2, 1933 in Irwin County to the late James Grady & Evie Hester Spradlin. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life. Mr. Spradlin was a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills, Georgia Display for 35 years, ITT Rayonier, the Irwin County Board of Education and Ben Hill County. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Gelene Reaves Spradlin of Fitzgerald; daughters: Rita Wolfe and Shelia King both of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Micah Wolfe, Mathew (Karen) Wolfe and Josh King; great grandson: Weston Wiley; brothers and sisters: H.G. Spradlin, H.L. (Kay) Spradlin, Fannie Belle Rowe and Zelma (Joe) Conger all of Tifton as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death a son, Robbie King, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
