Thomas “Rheudean” Denby, 77, of Waterloo and Tifton died Friday, December 17, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Dr. Stanley Hendricks will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. David King, Chuck Carter, Mark Youngblood, John Allen Lindsey, Ronald Dorman, Chuck Hester, Brian Hester and Robert Register will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be meeting at 704 East 8th Street in Tifton.
Mr. Denby was born on May 28, 1933 in Tifton and was the son of Herman Thomas Denby and Annie Ruth Thompson Denby, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret C. Denby; and one son, Ray Denby. He was retired as the Vice President of Dixie Oil Company and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Denby is survived by his wife, Gail Rutherford Hester Denby of Waterloo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah D. and Darrell Dorman of Tifton and Jeannie D. and Donald Anderson of Fitzgerald; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christy and Mike Shaw, Russ and DiDi Dorman, Denby Dorman, Morgan Anderson and Sara Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Rusty Dorman, Tyler Dorman, Joey Dorman, Ryan Shaw and Raylin Shaw; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jackie Denby of Tifton; one sister, Tonnie Ruth Carter of Tallahassee, Florida; his step-children and their spouses, Paul and Lisa Hester of Chula and Terry and Deborah Hester of Irwinville; his step-grandchildren and their spouses, Chuck and Shanna Hester, Brian and Amanda Hester, Maria Hester, Adam Hester and Gail Hester; and his step great-grandchildren, Lauren Hester and Blake Hester.
