MARBLEHEAD - Joyce E Duffy, 90, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, died Thursday, December 16, 2010, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Irving J. Duffy. She is survived by 2 children, a son Brian C. Duffy of Portsmouth NH and his wife Pam, and a daughter Susan E. Beliveau of Newton NH. Grandchildren, Charlotte Scott of Newton, NH and her husband Sean, Brianna Sanford of Newmarket, NH and her husband Braeden as well as three great Grandchildren, James A Scott, Gracen E. Scott and Lucy Duffy Sanford and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce lived many places and touched the lives of many people. She spent many years in Marblehead before moving to Salem MA, then Portland, ME, Newbury MA and later Newton NH to be closer to her family. Most recently she had been residing at the Edgewood center in Portsmouth NH. Joyce was a dedicated employee of the Essex Institute in Salem MA for 18 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and an avid volunteer for the Newbury Council on Aging and well as Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, MA for several years.
Joyce loved people and was a caretaker in ever sense of the word. There was nothing “Mimi” or “Grammy” wouldn’t do for her grandchildren or great grandchildren. There are no words to describe how much she will be loved and missed every minute of every day.
