LEICESTER: Norman R. Croft 83 of Lexington Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 16 at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester.
He was the husband of Barbara H. (Canning) Croft who died in 2003. He leaves two sons Russell H. Croft and his companion Judith Nadow of Worcester and Lyall C. Croft of Quincy, four daughters Gloria E. Lemerise and her husband Ken of So. Dennis, Diane B. Doane and her husband Dennis of Snellville, Ga., Norma L. Foley and her husband Brian of Worcester and Nancee J. Roy and her husband Ronald of W.Warren, a sister Harriet Bancroft of Windsor Locks, Ct., 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sisters Eleanor Hey and Gloria Croft.
Norman worked in the Debt Collection Dept. of Shawmut Bank in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1989.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Morrill and Ethel (Fudge) Croft. He later served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was a Life Member and Adjutant of the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443 and Quinsigamond Lodge of Masons A.F. & A.M. and former Secretary and Past Master.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 19 from Noon to 2p.m. in the MORRISON – MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will be at a later date in Hope Cemetery, Worcester at the convenience of the family.
