Theodore Ray “Ted” Doane, 75, of Ocilla, Georgia died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Osceola Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 17, 2010, at Andersonville National Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Basie officiating.
Mr. Doane was born July 31, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to the late Kenneth Ray and Mabel Bersuch Doane. He lived in Irwinville for the last thirty years. Mr. Doane served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. He was a retired paint and body mechanic, having worked for Ross of Georgia for many years. Uncle Ted was a ray of light to all of us. We loved him and will miss him dearly.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law: David & Blythe Doane of Rochester Hills, MI; nieces: Kim Andrade of Redwood City, CA, Tori Tating of Petaluma, CA and Angela Doane of London, England; nephews: Cole Tating and Andrew Rada of Petaluma, CA; niece: Michaelann Rada of Petaluma and a God Child: Sheron Wood of Ocilla; granddaughter: Chasity Wood of Ocilla. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Johnson, a niece, Dana Killham and his beloved dog and campanion, Buck.
