Helen DeLoria Marchant, 78, of Omega died Thursday, December 16, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Elder Jamie Tucker, Dr. Danny Ray and Elder Matt Strevel will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Duane Hardy, Ken Hardy, Joe Hardy, Bobby Erskine, Stacey Gunn and Clint Bostick will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Golden, Brad Golden and Jamie Golden. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Marchant was born on August 28, 1932 in Worth County and was the daughter of Clifford Robinson and Ione Taylor Robinson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Chess Marchant, Jr.; six sisters; and one brother. She was retired and a member of Fair Haven Primitive Baptist Church in Tifton. She had lived all of her life in the Omega community.
Mrs. Marchant is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Angela L. and Scott Willis of Omega, Sandra P. and Donnie Jackson of Omega and Patsy D. and Paul Gunn of Alaska; three brothers, Charlie Robinson of Omega, Ted Robinson of Omega and Bobby Robinson of Tifton; two sisters, Gloria Jean Hardy of Omega and Diane Bostick of Moultrie; four grandchildren and their spouses, Shane and Mindy Palmer, Sandy and Bobby Erskine, Zoey Gunn and Neil Gunn; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Erskine and Liam Gunn.
