Teresa Matarozzo Hersey, 85, of Salem, NH and Palm Bay, FL, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at her home. She was born in E. Boston, MA on February 16, 1925, a daughter of the late Michael and Celestina (Collarusso) Matarozzo. Teresa attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. She lived a very productive and fulfilling life. Teresa loved painting and ceramics and she enjoyed playing the organ.
She is survived by her husband; Frank Hersey of Salem, a son; Theodore Hattin, Jr. of Amherst, NH, several sisters and brothers; Rita Raiche and Joe Matarozzo, both of Derry, Ralph Matarozzo of Vermont, Jim Matarozzo of Colorado, Sylvia Costello of California, Lil Kennedy, Ann Staples and Kathy Leaman, all of Florida, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and several step children; Kathy Johnson of Florida, Robert Hersey of Derry, Eileen Daniels of Boscawen, NH, John Hersey of Shutesbury, MA, Donald Hersey, Dick Hersey, and Linda Goodine, all of Wisconsin.
Teresa was dearly loved and with respect to her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A gathering to honor her life will be held at a later date.
