Marie Hudson, 83, of Peabody, MA passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital, Gloucester, MA surrounded by her children. She was born in Simferopol, Russia on May 10, 1927 and had been a resident of Peabody for the past 30 years. Mrs. Hudson met her husband, Richard F. Hudson Sr. in Germany where he was serving in the US Air Force. They married on June 12, 1950 and lived in Linz, Austria for 2 years before returning to the United States. She worked 21 years for Rich’s Department Store in Salem, MA, retiring in August 1991. Mrs. Hudson enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, coming to New Hampshire to visit her grandchildren and caring for her family.
She is survived by her three children, Richard "Ric" F. Hudson Jr. of York, ME; Kim MacArthur and her husband John of Derry, NH and Jackie-Lyn Beauchamp and her husband Leo of Sandown, NH and also by four grandchildren; Jill Rocha, Krystie MacArthur and Jeffrey and Edward Beauchamp. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Richard “Dick” F. Hudson, Sr. on November 7, 2010.
A combined memorial service for Marie and Richard will take place in the spring.
