Obituary

Roland W. “Bill” Crossley 58 years, of Brockton died Sunday December 12, 2010 at Signature Healthcare after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Linda M. (Souza) Crossley. Bill was born in Plymouth a son of the late James and Marjorie (Sargood) Crossley and has resided in Brockton for over 30 years. During the Vietnam era he served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Bill had been employed at Electronic Sheetmetal Craftsmen, Inc. in Stoughton for many years and previously worked at Mercury Metal Products in Abington.
Bill traveled extensively in the United States and enjoyed 5th wheel camping. He loved working around his home and in his yard and playing Wii bowling with his grandchildren. Bill will be remembered as a quiet man who cherished his time spent with his family and grandchildren who affectionately called him their Grumpy Grampie.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by 2 sons Stephen Kierstead and his wife Jacqueline of Taunton and David Kierstead of Florida. He leaves 7 devoted grandchildren Stephanie, Matthew, Rebekah, Gabrielle, Amy, Maryellen and Ryan Kierstead. He was the brother of Richard Crossley of Las Vegas, Nevada; Michael Crossley of St. Claire Shores, Michigan; Carroll Paul Crossley of Connecticut and the late James and Robert Crossley. He is also survived by his half sister Sharon Ritchotti of Worcester. He will be sorely missed by his parrot JJ and poodle Muffin.
Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday 10am -1pm with a prayer service at 12:30. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer checks made payable to Dr. A. Zhu Liver Cancer Research Fund in memory of Roland Crossley c/o MGH Development Office 165 Cambridge St Boston, MA 02114.
