GLOUCESTER: Sylvia (Knight) Barratt, 81, of Collins Avenue, died Sunday morning, December 12, 2010 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of John H. Barratt, Jr.
Born in Boston on October 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Katherine (Heaton) Knight. She had been a resident of Gloucester since 1951.
In addition to her husband of nearly sixty years, she is survived by her daughter, Susan Barratt Souza of Rockport; two granddaughters, Kristie L. Sampson and Deirdre K. Hurlburt both of Georgia and a sister, Emily Uptegrove of New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
