OXFORD: Carl U. Blomberg 86 of Homestead Ave, formerly of 414 Mill St., Worcester, died Sunday, Dec. 12 at his daughter’s home.
He was the husband of Shirley J. (Johnson) Blomberg who died in 1994. He leaves three daughters Gail B. Rapoza and her husband Andrew of Conroe, Tx., Janice C. Jwaszewski and her husband Bernard of Barre and Sherry A. Greenlees of Oxford with whom he lived, a sister Gurlie Casey of No.Brookfield, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Blomberg was a foreman for the former Thompson Steel & Wire in Worcester and later Concord Wire, before retiring in 1987.
Born in Charlton, he was the son of Carl G. and Ida C. (Anderson) Blomberg. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army Aircorps in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Carl’s funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 10:00AM in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 67 Chester St., Worcester. Friends may gather at the Church to pay their respects on Saturday from 9 to 10a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Northside Cemetery, Charlton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church’s Perpetual Education Fund, 67 Chester St., Worcester.
