
Conrad J. Lafontaine, 62, of Westport went to rest on Monday, December 6, 2010, surrounded by his family and friends. He was the loving husband of Donna F. (Rego) Lafontaine.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late Albert J. and Marguerite (Ferland) Lafontaine, he had lived in Rhode Island for many years prior to moving to Westport 17 years ago. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country as a Green Beret in the United States Army. He had worked for EUA / National Grid for 35 years and worked for Minuteman Harley Davidson. Mr. Lafontaine was a Captain with the Fairlawn-Lincoln Fire Department, a firefighter for the Lime Rock Fire Department and an instructor with the Rhode Island Fire Academy. He was a Westport Police Reserve Officer and Dispatcher, a Fall River Auxiliary Police Officer and a Constable for the City of Fall River. Conrad was a founding member of the Cruizers Car Club and a member of the New England Trials Riders Association.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: Roy M. Rodrigues and his wife Mary of Dartmouth and Jeff Lafontaine and his wife Dawn of RI; 2 brothers: Robert Lafontaine of Plymouth and Roland Lafontaine of FL; 3 grandchildren: Cyla, Bethany and J.T.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9 – 11 A.M. prior to the service.
Burial in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
