Obituary

James J. Porter, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital, on Sunday, December 21, following a short illness. The husband of the late Elizabeth M. (Doherty), he was ninety years old.

A lieflong Woburn resident he was the son of the late Sarah (Doherty) and Edward Porter. He enlisted in the army during World War II and served in European, African, Middle Eastern Theator Campaign, Jim was a foreman at Atlantic Gelatin retireing after 35 years of service. He was devoted to raising his family and enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Edward F. Porter and his wife Gretchen of Winchester, his daughter Elizabeth A. Porter of Woburn. Also four loving grandchildren Kacey, Max, Molly and Thomas, also several nieces and nephews

In addition to his wife Elizabeth, he was predeceased by his sisters, Martha Porter and Kathleen Collins.

His funeral will be from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Saturday, December 27, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in The Immaculate Conception Church, 29 Sheridan Circle, Winchester at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday, December 26, from 2-4 & 6-8.
