Marblehead: Sebastian ‘Randy’ Randazzo age 85, died unexpectedly at his home, Friday, December 10, 2010. He was the husband of Florence Claire (Secando) Randazzo, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Santo and Antonia (Amenta) Randazzo. Randy enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served with the Navy Seals (UDT, Underwater Demolition Team) during W.W. II. Following his tour of duty, he returned to Salem and worked with his father in the family’s Randazzo Construction Co. He continued with the company until his retirement at the age of 55.
Randy was a very sociable man who loved to cook for gatherings of people as well as organize various trips. He was also an avid football fan. Randy has been a member of the Vittori-Rocci Post of Beverly for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Donna O’Brien and her husband Paul of Webster, 2 grandchildren, Frank and Lisa, and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews including, Antonia ‘Nina’ and Richard Juel of Danvers, Philip and Ellisa Salvatore of New York, Santo and Janet Salvatore of New Hampshire, Mario and Gail Salvatore of Peabody, Paul and Patty Randazzo of Tingsboro, Maryann and Don Withrow of New Hampshire, as well as grand nieces and grand nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Randazzo and a sister, Melina Salvatore.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 9 a.m., to be followed by his funeral mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church on the Salem Peabody line at 10 a.m. Visiting hours: Monday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
