Catherine P. Camara, 67

Catherine “Pat” (Muldoon) Camara, 67, of Norton passed away on Thursday December 9, 2010 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of John J. Camara, to whom she was wed on October 30, 1970.
Born in Attleboro, MA on September 16, 1943 she was a daughter of the late James P. Muldoon and the late Edna E. “Arlene” (Small) Lord and her husband Orrin Lord.
Pat grew up in Weymouth and Mansfield, was educated in Weymouth and Mansfield public schools and was a 1960 graduate of Mansfield High School.
A retired cashier, she had been employed at the former Fernandes Supermarket in Norton and was a former nurses assistant at the former Pondville Hospital in Norfolk.
Pat was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and was a member of Norton VFW Post 8049 Ladies Auxiliary. She had made her home in Norton for the past 45 years and previously resided in Mansfield.
Along with her husband John, she enjoyed many wonderful winters spent in Florida. Mrs. camara loved spending time in the presence of her adoring family, especially camping trips with her grandchildren. Pat made many friendships throughout the years with the patrons who parked in her yard while attending concerts and events held at Great Woods in Mansfield.
In addition to her beloved husband, who she recently celebrated 40 years of marriage, she was the devoted mother of Lisa A. Bravetti of Taunton and the late Nick J. Bravetti. She was the dear sister of Stephen Lord of Plainville and the late Robert Muldoon. Mrs. Camara was the cherished Nana of Shane, Andrea, Cassie, Brandon, Tori, Isabella and Madelyn and was the loving great grandmother of Hailey, Amianna, Robert, Rachel and Rylan. She is also survived by her daughter in law Debra, her sister in laws Mary Camara and Grace Camara, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday December 14th at 8:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St. Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Center Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday December 13th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Pat’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the National Kidney Foundation of MA, RI, NH & VT, 85 Astor Ave. Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
