Obituary

Julia Lee Graden Martin , Clarksville, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 13, at First Baptist Church with Dr. John David Laida and Dr. Roger Freeman officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 P.M. Sunday, at the funeral home and from 12 P.M. until the hour of the service Monday at the church.

Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born September 19, 1918 in Chattanooga, TN, daughter of the late Conway Graden and Marguerite Zorn Graden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Milton Martin.
Mrs. Martin was the director of the Warioto Regional Library Center and retired after approximately forty-five years of service. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors Degree and received her Masters of Library Science from George Peabody College in Nashville. She was a member of Friends of the Library, Tennessee Library Association, Modern Study Club, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include son William Conway Martin (Julie), Nashville, TN; two daughters, Emily Martin Carney (John W. Jr.); Margaret Nelle Martin; beloved friend and caregiver, Teresa Birdwell, all of Clarksville; a brother, Joseph Conway Graden (Nena), Sarasota, FL; five grandchildren, Julia Elizabeth Carney, John Wesley Carney, III, Christopher Shaun Martin, Andrew Graden Martin, and Ouida Ann Martin.
Pallbearers will be Fred Landiss, Lawson Mabry, Kevin Cain, Bill Wall, Ernie Briggs, Bill Ogles, Jr., Lee Hudson, Shan Smith and Riley Darnell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Warioto Regional Library Board and members of the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library Board.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 435 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040 or to the Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040.
