WEYMOUTH-Mary A. (MacDonald) Stimpson, 90, of 43 School House Road, formerly of 21 Dillon Street, Worcester died Sunday, December 21st in Weymouth. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Robert J. Stimpson, 2 sons, Robert J. Stimpson of Worcester and Andrew M. Stimpson of Webster, 5 daughters, Mary E. O’Halloran and Kathleen T. Stimpson both of Weymouth, Ann E. Pomerance of Lebanon, NH, Patricia F. Stimpson of Everett, WA and Jane M. Stimpson of Worcester, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A brother Donald MacDonald and 2 sisters Elizabeth Murley and Theresa Babin predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Martin and Ellen (Donohue) MacDonald. Mrs. Stimpson was a graduate of Bridgewater State College, and had been a teacher for 25 years, she last taught at Canterbury Street School. She was a former member of Our Lady of Angels Parish, and a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church. Mrs. Stimpson was an avid reader, a Red Sox fan and enjoyed visiting Falmouth in the summer and Florida in the winter.
The funeral is Wednesday, December 24th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial is in St. John’s Cemetery.
