Giovina (Fiorito) Candelora died Wednesday, unexpectedly, at home. She was 82.
Born in East Boston, the daughter of the late Philomena (Ciampa) and Leonardo Fiorito, her given name was Giovina; but family and friends knew her affectionately as Joanne. She quietly enjoyed making her home in South Medford. Joanne was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, associated with Post 69 of Malden.
Devoted mother of Eddie Candelora of Medford, Dennis Candelora, Karen Thatcher and her husband John all of Billerica and Janice Candelora of Tewksbury. Loving grandmother to Dennis, Brandi, Jack, Sam, Stefani and also six great grandchildren. Special aunt of Virginia Roche of Somerville. Former wife of Edmund Candelora of Malden.
A funeral service will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
