SALEM - Lucian J. Grocki, 66, of Salem, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at his home.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Lucien and Helen T. (Jordan) Grocki. He attended Salem Schools and graduated from Salem High School in the class of 1962 and was a graduate of Wentworth Institute.
Lucian owned and operated the popular restaurant, “As You Like It,” on Essex Street, Salem during the 1970's.
For the past 16 years he was employed at the John Bertram House, located on Salem Common.
A lifelong resident of the city, he was an active parishioner of the St. John The Baptist Church, where he operated the kitchen for many annual picnics and other functions. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Scott Corrick of Hanover, two grandchildren, Annika Corrick and Griffin Corrick, both of Hanover, two brothers, Paul F. Grocki and John F. and his wife Cheryl Grocki, all of Salem and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, 28 St. Peter St., Salem. There are no visiting hours. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
