Jack R. Barronton, 83, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at his residence.
Services were private with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in the lot with his parents.
Mr. Barronton was born March 3, 1927 in Union Springs, Alabama to the late Newton Clifford and Essie Reynolds Barronton. He had lived in Fitzgerald for the past 76 years and was a retired Locomotive Engineer for the CSX Railroad. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his friend and caregiver Bobby Roberts of Fitzgerald and many other friends. His dear friend Ed Cox died November 28, 2010.
